The newly deployed MES system connects directly to the data interfaces of injection molding machines, robotic arms, automated tray loading lines, and other equipment, enabling fully automated data collection across the entire process. With a focus on OEE management, the system delivers three key modules:
► Real-Time Monitoring of the Six Major Losses
Through direct PLC connectivity, the MES system automatically records equipment operating status, including runtime, standby time, breakdown downtime, changeover time, setup/adjustment time, and minor stops—covering all six major loss categories. The system calculates the Availability of each injection molding machine in real time, helping management quickly identify bottleneck equipment and prioritize improvement resources.
► Automatic Calculation of Performance & Quality Rates
By interfacing with the injection molding machine control system, the MES system automatically compares actual cycle times against theoretical standard cycle times to calculate Performance in real time. Meanwhile, by integrating with QC inspection data and the counting system from automated tray loading lines, it automatically tallies total production, qualified parts, and defective parts—generating the Quality Rate and overall OEE score.
► Visual Dashboards & Real-Time Alerts
Multiple electronic dashboards have been installed on the shop floor, displaying real-time OEE data, current production output, and exception status for each machine. Whenever a machine's OEE remains below a preset threshold, the system automatically pushes alert notifications to production supervisors and engineering teams—enabling a shift from "after-the-fact correction" to "in-process intervention" to minimize efficiency losses.
